2013 wurde die Lötter Bioenergie UG & Co KG gegründet und eine 250 KW Biogasanlage in Betrieb genommen. Die Anlage wird ausschließlich mit Rindergülle, Mist und Futterresten betrieben, es werden keine Futterpflanzen wie z. B. Mais verwendet. Der elektrische Strom wird ins öffentliche Netz eingespeist und mit der Wärme werden Gebäude, Stall und für die Fermenter genutzt.
